Welcome

Glad you stopped by.

Welcome to the place where real takes center stage.  The place where connecting on the good stuff (and sometimes the hard stuff) - the real stuff---is the focus.  You know the stuff  I am referring to -- those things that contribute to the growth of our real self.  Things like embracing forgiveness, understanding acceptance, finding grace, kicking comparison to the curb, being present, letting go of perfectionism, managing expectations, owning our worthiness and pushing fear aside.

Whew.  Big stuff.

And this is the place to find out more about this big, important, real stuff.  This is the place that has everything to do with living an authentic, genuine life.

Why live genuinely?  Why this blog?  Why the Foster Five?  I suppose it has a lot to do with what I have learned over the last decade from friends, colleagues, clients—and my own self.   Through my lectures, meetings, discussions, talks, reading, and empirical research, I have found something so simple but so important:  That being true to ourselves is the path to peace and joy. I know, I know. It’s probably not the first time you've heard this statement.  Easier said than done.

I get it.

But isn’t it comforting to know there’s a place that imparts this stuff? That someone is willing to share and discuss the stuff that is supportive and contributes to our growth.

Listen, I don’t have it all figured out. No promises. But I do have some of it figured out.  And that’s why I am here. That is why Your Genuine Life exists. To give you a boost, a push, a smile, a laugh, and “A-ha”, a whisper to move forward or pull back, to assess……or to just “be.”

The wise Maya Angelou said, “We teach most what need to learn."   Understanding this statement fully, I am practicing these powerful words by speaking, inspiring, writing, and living in this "genuine" space.  It's my way of giving back.  To You.

I hope you will find something here that speaks to your head and heart. Whether a Foster Five, a book absorbed that inspired, excerpts from a talk that made an impact, or a quote that captures a truth.  No matter what you find, take what is useful today and leave the rest for another time.

Thanks for stopping by,

Danielle
