Foster Five-- September 25, 2015

  1. Smiling makes an impact. Really. Just smile at everyone. Do it. I made that promise to myself this week. Every person I passed, no matter where, I smiled at them and 95% smiled back.  Really smiled. It was magic.
  2. Honor your gifts.
  3. It can be easy to let fear take control. Acknowledge it but don't let it run the show.
  4. My own strength still continues to amaze me and I need to respect that amazement. You should too. Own it.
  5. Reading fuels and fills me. When I skip it because of "being so busy" my heart and soul supper. Don't skip what fuels you.

Foster Five- September 18, 2015

  1. Chance meetings, spontaneous lunches, and unplanned talks always end up being the most amazing gifts and exactly what we need at the precise time we needed it.
  2. A good nap fixes everything. No matter what your age.
  3. Loyalty is good but not when it hurts your heart.  Remember, it's just as important to be loyal to yourself as it is to others.
  4. Second guessing is just painful.  Hit the pause button once you start and let it go.
  5. There are signs everywhere for whatever it is you are seeking. You just need to open your heart and mind.

  1. Every once in a while the motivator needs motivating too.  And that's OK.
  2. Appreciation- both giving and getting--- is felt so very deeply and feeds the soul.  Practice it.
  3. We can't go over it. We can go around it. We can't go under it. We must go through it to understand it, appreciate it and learn from it.
  4. Don't be a scorekeeper in any relationship. No one ends up winning.
  5. Hearing the voice of a loved one-- near or far-- fills my heart with immeasurable joy. Call 'em.

Foster Five- September 4, 2015

  1. I don't always need to have the answers; knowing where to seek out the answers is just as helpful.
  2. My values are more important than my title. Tell people your values.
  3. I choose to believe that people are doing the best they can.
  4. I can learn just as much from my 11 year old as he can from me.  Don't underestimate a child's wisdom.
  5. That giving hope is a tremendous gift given by God. Honor it.

Foster Five ---August 28, 2015

  1. It takes a tremendous amount of will power and practice to understand that it is not the situation but our reaction to the situation.  I need to practice more.
  2. Taking my own advice really does work.  I should try it instead of just give it.
  3. Following my gut never disappoints. It's only when I ignore it that I get into trouble.
  4. Sometimes I don't have to lift someone up to give support, simply standing beside them is all it takes.
  5. The more I look for the sunlight through the trees, the more I see.
